volstartup(8) System Manager's Manual volstartup(8)
NAME
volstartup - Start Logical Storage Manager (LSM) daemons.
SYNOPSIS
/sbin/volstartup
DESCRIPTION
The volstartup script is used to start LSM daemons and make LSM func-
tional. This checks if vold, the LSM configuration daemon is running or
not. If vold is running, it is killed and a new vold is started. vol-
startup also starts two error logging daemons called voliod.
volstartup would usually be run if LSM was disabled for some reason and
needs to be re-started. It can also be run after a system is rebooted
but LSM has not yet been enabled.
