volevac(8) System Manager's Manual volevac(8)
NAME
volevac - Evacuate all volumes from a disk
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/volevac [ -g diskgroup ] medianame [ new_medianame ... ]
DESCRIPTION
The volevac script moves subdisks off the specified disk (medianame) to
the specified destination disks (new_medianame ...). Note that only
those subdisks that are associated with a volume are moved to the des-
tination disk.
Subdisks that are part of unmirrored striped plexes will be moved by
moving the entire plex to a new location.
If no new_medianame operands are specified, then any non-volatile, non-
reserved disks can be used as destination disks.
This operation presumes that sufficient space exists elsewhere in the
disk group for it to complete the operation. If the process runs out
of space, then not all of the volumes on the disk may be evacuated.
This script is usually called from the voldiskadm menus.
